Goodnight, Little Jasmine
After giving birth out of wedlock, He Chong’s mother, He Mi, married Gu Hongsheng, a businessman twenty-five years her senior, as his second wife. Following He Mi’s death, He Chong returns to claim his inheritance and fulfill his mother’s final wish to be buried alongside Gu Hongsheng, only to face relentless opposition from the Gu family.
Seeing this, the usually dutiful Zhou Mo acts on impulse and speaks up in He Chong’s defense. After a few encounters, believing he earns a meager living repairing cars and is struggling financially, Zhou Mo decides to pay He Chong to help her complete a list of “bad deeds.”
Strict parental discipline from childhood left Zhou Mo innocent and sheltered, but also fostered a weak personality prone to avoidance. With He Chong by her side, Zhou Mo finds the courage to change. She overcomes her inner struggles, faces her future head-on, and ultimately breaks free from her cocoon like a butterfly, embarking on a new path in life.
